ROSARY:

Reminder, that every first Sunday of the month, the Altar Rosary Society prays the rosary at 8:30am before the Divine Liturgy. All parishioners are welcome.  

CARPATHO_RUSYN VATRA:

The Rusyn and Slovak picnic will be held on September 7, 2019 on our church grounds. The kitchen opens at 12:00 pm and will be serving pirohy, stuffed cabbage, cabbage and noodles, Kielbasi & sauerkraut and bacon fry (Slanina).  Admission is free and all are welcomed.

LADY OF FATIMA STATUE:

St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic church in Campbell, will host the visitation of the famous National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima on October 10. St Michael’s is located at 463 Robinson Road, Campbell, OH. Everyone is invited to see and pray before the statue. Additional details are forthcoming.

CHINESE AUCTION:

St Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church will hold their 43rd annual Chinese Auction on Sunday, October 6 at their center-2140 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. Doors open at 1:00 pm and drawing is at 2:15 pm. Admission is $5.00 which includes lunch& 1 FREE sheet. Extra tear sheets are 7 for $5.00.

50th ANNIVERSARY-2020 :

The 50th Anniversary celebration of Infant Jesus of Prague in 2020 was discussed this past week at the Byzantine Social Club meeting. It has been decided it will be held in June 2020 and that a banquet following Liturgy with Bishop William will be planned. We would love all parishioners to join in and help organize and if anyone has any pictures or information of the history of our church to please see Father Michael or Mickey Vasilchek. Let’s make this a wonderful event!!!!!

BLESSING OF THE STUDENTS:

Blessing of the students will be held next weekend following g each liturgy. All students, preschool through college, are invited to receive a blessing for this coming school year.

MAINTENANCE UPDATE:  

J C M contracting has completed the update of changing our septic system and connecting to the sewer system. The total cost is $22,647.00. Again, we thank all parishioners for their contributions to the maintenance fund which helped defray this cost.

SANCTUARY CANDLES:

The Sanctuary candles will be lit for the entire week for your intentions. Both Sanctuary candles this week are in memory of +Janice Salcedo from her family. (We miss you Jan!)

PARISH PICNIC:

Thank you to the Byzantine Social Club who organized our parish picnic. It was a beautiful night and everyone had a wonderful time.

REMINDER:

This Thursday August 15th, 2019 we will have a liturgy for the Dormition of the Theotokos at 6:00 pm at Infant Jesus. There will also be a liturgy at 9:00 am at St. Nicholas. This is a holy day of obligation. There will be a procession with the Shroud of the Virgin Mother.

On Wednesday August 14th, Bishop William Skurla, along with Fr. Michael and other area priests will be celebrating the Pre-festive Liturgy of the Dormition of the Theotokos. For those who cannot attend Thursday’s liturgy, we encourage all to participate in this beautiful holy day.

PARISHIONER NEWS:

This past Sunday, July 28, 2019, our beloved parishioner Janice Salcedo passed on. Her funeral was Thursday August 1, 2019. She was laid to rest at Mount Saint Macrina, per her request, on Friday August 2, 2019. Our deepest sympathies to Janice’s husband Stephen, parents Bob & Millie Jonda, and all her family. Blessed repose and Eternal memory to His servant Janice.

Thank you again to everyone for the support this past Saturday at our Food Fest. Our total earnings, after expenses, is $4,094.00. God bless all of you for your continued generosity, time and talent.

The 50th Anniversary celebration of Infant Jesus of Prague in 2020 was discussed this past week at the Byzantine Social Club meeting. It has been decided it will be held in June 2020 and that a banquet following Liturgy with Bishop William will be planned. We would love all parishioners to join in and help organize and if anyone has any pictures or information of the history of our church to please see Father Michael or Mickey Vasilchek. Let’s make this a wonderful event!!!!!

FOOD FEST:

A sincere thank you to all who helped cook, worked, set up, supported, etc our food fest this weekend. All of your time and talent I truly appreciated. A full report will be to follow.

KENNYWOOD:

Reminder that our annual Kennywood trip is this Thursday (7-25-19). The bus will leave from the Infant Jesus parking lot at 9am SHARP. Please be here by 8:30am for the small tailgate and to get your tickets!

MAINTENANCE  UPDATE:

This past week, TMC Excavating & Trenching , upgraded our sewer system. The church is now tied into the city sewer system and the septic system is gone

FRIDAY (7-26-19) AT 8AM AT BYZANTINE AT THE GROVE FOR FOOD PREP OR AT THE CHURCH GROUNDS FOR SET UP,

SATURDAY (7-27-19—day of food fest!) STARTING AT 9AM FOR THE FOOD FEST.

Chinese Auction: whoever is willing to donate items for our Chinese auction, please bring them to the rectory by SUNDAY 7-21-19!

ALTAR SERVERS “FAITH & FUN DAY”:

This year the Altar Servers fun day will be held on July 2nd and is open to all active altar servers (elementary through high school). The day will be a memorable experience from the Divine Liturgy, to a hearty lunch, to a visit to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and ending with a Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball game. See Fr. Infant Jesus of Prague will be holding a Food fest on July 27, 2019 on the church grounds. We will also be holding a Chinese Auction. There are sign –up sheets in the vestibule for anyone who would like to donate for the Chinese Auction and/or work the food fest. More information will be forthcoming.

SANCTUARY CANDLES:

The Sanctuary candles will be lit for the entire week for your intentions. The left Sanctaury candle is in memory of +William & +Violet Novak from Bill Novak & Dan Magulick. There is no request for the right.
