CCD (ECF) CLASSES:

Beginning Tuesday, October 15^th, Eastern Christian Formation Classes will resume.  Classes will be held at Byzantine at the Grove at 6:30 pm every Tuesday.  All school aged children and adults are encouraged to attend.

 

YOUTH PROGRAM DIRECTOR:

We are looking for a parishioner who would like to run/organize our new youth program.  This individual will coordinate our youth activities for school aged children at our parish.  Anyone interested or has further questions please contact Fr. Michael.

 

50^TH ANNIVERSARY MEETING:

On Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 9:00am, there will be a meeting to discuss details/plans for Infant Jesus of Prague’s 50^th Anniversary celebration.  Coffee and donuts will be served.  We hope many parishioners attend to help make this a wonderful, memorable event.

 

 

MEN’S POTLUCK DINNER:

Asking all men from the Byzantine Social Club to bring their favorite dish to share at the Men’s Potluck Dinner on Wednesday, October 23^rd at 6:00 pm at the church. New members are always welcome.  Group B is in charge.

 

BYZANTINE SPIRITUAL RETREAT: The 2019 Byzantine Spiritual Retreat will be on Saturday, November 9^th from 9:30am to 1:45pm at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Munhall, PA.  the fee is $35 and includes lunch.  The deadline to sign up is November 2, 2019.  

 

 

2019 ST. NICHOLAS CELEBRATION:  The Annual St. Nicholas Celebration to benefit the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Sts. Cyril & Methodius will take place on Sun, Dec. 8^th, 2019 at St. John Cathedral & Center in Munhall, PA.  There will be an additional fundraiser raffle in which the winner will receive 12 $50 gift cards to popular national restaurants in addition to $1500 in cash. The winning number will be the PA Pick 3 number drawn on Dec. 15^th, 2019.  Please show your support by purchasing a raffle ticket! For tickets please call the Rectory.

There will be a Rosary Rally on Saturday, October 12th, 2019.  It will begin at 11:00 am at St. Columba Cathedral in downtown Youngstown and process to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica.  the Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 noon.  All are encouraged to attend.

St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic church in Campbell, will host the visitation of the famous National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima on October 10. St Michael’s is located at 463 Robinson Road, Campbell, OH. Everyone is invited to see and pray before the statue. Additional details are forthcoming.

 

PARISH DINNER:

The annual parish dinner will be on Sunday, October 13^th @ 12:15 pm. It will be held at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Price is $21.00 all-inclusive for adults and children (age 4-10) are $12.  There is a sign-up sheet in vestibule and please pay in advanced by Sunday, October 6th. On October 3^rd, 2019 at 6:00 pm “Lives of the Priest’s Wives” will be presented at the Basilica & National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon.   Come & join as several priest’s wives from different Orthodox & Eastern Catholic churches will share their stories of their lives. 6:00pm:  Maronite Daily Liturgy 6:30-8:00pm: refreshments & discussion.

The Society is presenting the documentary film, The Resurrection of A Nation:  The Story of the Fall of Communism and the Triumphant Revival of Carpatho- Rusyn Culture on Sunday, September 29 at 1:30pm at the Butler Institute of Art.

St Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church will hold their 43^rd annual Chinese Auction on Sunday, October 6 at their center-2140 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. Doors open at 1:00 pm and drawing is at 2:15 pm. Admission is $5.00 which includes lunch& 1 FREE sheet. Extra tear sheets are 7 for $5.00.

St Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church will hold their 43^rd annual Chinese Auction on Sunday, October 6 at their center-2140 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. Doors open at 1:00 pm and drawing is at 2:15 pm. Admission is $5.00 which includes lunch& 1 FREE sheet. Extra tear sheets are 7 for $5.00.

LADY OF FATIMA STATUE:

St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic church in Campbell, will host the visitation of the famous National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima on October 10. St Michael’s is located at 463 Robinson Road, Campbell, OH. Everyone is invited to see and pray before the statue. Additional details are forthcoming.

 PARISH DINNER:

The annual parish dinner will be on Sunday, October 13^th @ 12:15 pm. It will be held at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Price is $21.00 all-inclusive for adults and children (age 4-10) are $12.00. Buffet menu: sliced roast beef, baked lemon pepper chicken, scallop potatoes, vegetable melody, warm rolls, salad and dessert parfait, coffee, tea and sodas are included for the price. There is a sign-up sheet in vestibule and please pay in advanced by Sunday, October 6th. Checks can be made payable to the Altar and Rosary Society. EVERYONE IS INVITED!!!

 

 REMINDER: BLESSING OF THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS:

Blessing of the students and teachers will be held this weekend following each liturgy. All students, preschool through college, are invited to receive a blessing for this coming school year.

 50^th ANNIVERSARY-2020 :

The 50^th Anniversary celebration of Infant Jesus of Prague will be held on June 28, 2020.  Archbishop William along with area priests will be celebrating a Divine Liturgy at 3:00pm. Further details have not been decided.  We would love all parishioners to join in and help organize and if anyone has any pictures or information of the history of our church to please see Father Michael or Mickey Vasilchek. Let’s make this a wonderful event!!!!!

 

 BYZANTINE SOCIAL CLUB CORN ROAST:

The Byzantine Social Club will have their Corn Roast on Wed., Sept. 11 at 6pm at the church pavilion. Group B is in charge. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided along with corn on the cob. New members are always welcome.

 

SANCTUARY CANDLES:

BLESSING OF THE STUDENTS:

MAINTENANCE UPDATE:  

J C M contracting has completed the update of changing our septic system and connecting to the sewer system. The total cost is $22,647.00. Again, we thank all parishioners for their contributions to the maintenance fund which helped defray this cost.

Thank you to the Byzantine Social Club who organized our parish picnic. It was a beautiful night and everyone had a wonderful time.

On Wednesday August 14^th, Bishop William Skurla, along with Fr. Michael and other area priests will be celebrating the Pre-festive Liturgy of the Dormition of the Theotokos. For those who cannot attend Thursday’s liturgy, we encourage all to participate in this beautiful holy day.
