3^RD QUARTER GCU LODGE AND ALTAR & ROSARY SOCIETY:

Altar & Rosary Society meeting will be on Sunday, September 9^th following Divine Liturgy.  All parishioners and guests are welcome for coffee and donuts that will precede the meeting.

 

CONCERT:

September 9, 2018 the Ukrainian Bandurist Choir of North America will be in concert at the DeYor Performing Arts Center at 2:00 pm. For info call 330-824-2244. All are welcome.

 

CARPATHO-RUSYN SOCIETY: VATRA:

All are invited to attend the Vatra Bonfire Fest on Saturday, September 15, 2018 for fun, food, singing and socializing like our Slavic ancestors did in the Carpathian Mountains. This event will be held on the grounds of Infant Jesus of Prague Church, Boardman, Ohio.

 

ANNUAL PARISH DINNER:

Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 12;15 pm will be our annual parish dinner at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave., Boardman, Ohio.  Buffet Dinner includes: sliced

roast beef au jus, baked bone-in lemon pepper chicken, scalloped potatoes, California vegetable medley, garden salad and dressing, warm rolls and butter, dessert parait, and freshly brewed coffee, iced tea, hot tea, sodas and ice water.

$20.00 for adults,

$12.00 for kids 4-10 or $10.00 for the kids menu.

Please sign up and pre-pay by October 1^st and make checks payable to the Altar & Rosary Society.

THANK YOU:

Thank you to the Byzantine Social Club, GCU and The Altar & Rosary Society for sponsoring the parish picnic.  The food was

delicious and abundant memories were made.

 

MAINTENANCE UPDATE:

A few weeks ago the chimney was repaired for $1550.00, which needed to be done before the roof.

 

The electricity, which was needed badly, in the rectory, has

been updated at a cost of $641.70, and was paid/donated by a fellow parishioner.

 

The following repairs are on the calendar: new roof on the rectory, painting the light poles in the parking lot & driveway, and repairing the stonework on the front of the church. Updates with cost will be provided when completed.

 

BYZANTINE ASSEMBLY 2018: September 16 -18^th at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Munhall, PA, will be an assembly attended by priests, deacons and the faithful of the Archeparchy. Please contact Fr. Michael if interested.

The Sisters of St. Basil the Great warmly invite all to their 84^th Annual Pilgrimage in Honor of our Lady of Perpetual Help September 1 & 2, 2018, at Mount Saint Macrina in Uniontown, PA. Pamphlets will be on the vestibule table, please help yourself.

BYZANTINE ASSEMBLY 2018: September 16 -18^th at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Munhall, PA, will be an assembly attended by priests, deacons and the faithful of the Archeparchy. Each parish is expected to send two

Representatives, ideally a man and a woman, and in turn, the participants will be asked to assist in developing and implementing a strategic plan for rejuvenating our parishes.

STUDENT BLESSINGS:

Immediately following Divine Liturgy on August 18^th & 19^th there will a blessing for all students from pre-K thru college.

 

CHURCH PICNIC REMINDER:

The annual church picnic’s rescheduled date is Wednesday, August 22 at 6:00 pm at the church pavilion. Please bring a side dish or desert for sharing. Hope to see everyone there!
