St. Mary’s Church Feast Celebration: The Celebration held on August 15^th, 2017 on the Feast Day following the 4:00pm Liturgy. Cocktails will be at 5:00pm and dinner will be at 6:00pm. The menu is: Chicken, and Pork, Buttered Parsley Potatoes, Tomato Salas, Tossed Salad, Fresh Fruit, Corn on the cob, bread/butter, beer, wine, pop, and cake. The cost is $13.00 for all and $5.00 for children 10 years old. Please 330-792-1578 by August 7^th to RSVP. PLEASE NOTE… We will also be celebrating Sister Bernarda and Sister Leocadia on their many years of service in The Religious Life.

 

ATTENTION ALL PARISHIONERS: Next weekend (August 5^th and 6^th), we will be kicking off a new fundraiser. We will be asking all parishioners to participate. Look in next week’s bulletin for all the information. We are doing this fundraiser due to the many projects that still need to be done, such as; repaving/repairing the parking lot and entrance to the Church, upgrading the septic system, repairing the steeple and rim on the roof of the Church, just to name a few.

 

Kennywood: Thank you to Elaine Chachko for all of her hard work and time organizing the day at Kennywood. Also, a thank you to the GCU for the snacks that everyone enjoyed. It was a wonderful day and everyone had a great time.

 

United Nations International Pilgrim Virgin Statue Fatima Centennial Tour: One of the four famous statues sculpted according to the specifications of Sister Lucia, will be held at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church on Wednesday August 16^th from 11:00am to 7:00pm. Any questions call 330-792-1578.

 

Sanctuary Candles: The Sanctuary candles will be lit for the entire week for your intentions. The cost is $10. There are two Sanctuary candles so more than one intention may be given. This week’s Sanctuary Candle is for the Health and Well-being of Rachel Sivy from Tom and Joyce Lesko.

There will be a tailgate before and the bus will leave at 9:00am sharp. Tickets will be given out at that time, to whoever purchased them from our church. The bus will leave Kennywood to return home at 6:00pm. Let’s pray for no rain and to have a great day!

 

Marriage Celebration: A celebration of Marriage honouring those who are celebrating significant anniversaries (10,25,40,45,50, and every 5 years thereafter) in this year of 2017. The celebration will be held on Sunday, September 10^th at 3:00pm at St. Elias Church in Munhall, PA. Divine Liturgy followed by a banquet dinner, a certificate, and a picture with Archbishop William will occur. Please call the rectory by this Sunday July 23, 2017 so we can register you for this wonderful event.

It will be held Monday July 17- Friday July 21 from 9am-12 noon each day. The theme of VBS will be “Maker Fun Factory: Created by God, Built for a Purpose.” It will be centralized around our Byzantine Catholic Faith and traditions as well. Sign-up sheets will be in the vestibule.

Maintenance Update: As everyone can see, we are undergoing the flat roof repairs. The roofs should be finished soon.

 

Kennywood: Kennywood Day will be Thursday July 27, 2017. As stated, the bus is free; Infant Jesus is paying for it. There are sign-up sheets in the vestibule for your tickets. The cost is also on the sign-up sheet.

 

Food Fest Announcement: Our 2^nd Annual Food Fest is next Saturday June 24, 2017 from 11:00am-4:00pm at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic church on Robinson Road in Campbell, Ohio. The menu will be Halupki, Haluski, Kolbasi & Sauerkraut and Pirohy. WE NEED YOUR HELP! There are sign-up sheets to volunteer to help that day in the vestibule—to work&/or bake. We also have extra flyers, so please feel free to take & give to family, friends, etc. We hope we can have another successful food fest

The Carpatho-Rusyn society of Youngstown will have an ethnic food booth (dumpling Haluski) and heritage booth. Come join the fun & Eastern Europe entertainment. There will be free parking at the Covelli Center.

 

Byzantine Social Club: The Byzantine Social Club members Steak Fry will be Wednesday June 28^th at 6:00 p.m. in the Church Pavilion. Bring your own steaks (or whatever you choose to grill). Group B is in charge and will provide paper products, side dishes, and refreshments.

Flag Day: Reminder-today we are celebrating Flag Day. A ceremony & light lunch will be held after 9am liturgy. If you bring your new flag, Fr. Michael will bless it. This beautiful day is sponsored by our GCU lodge 442. We welcome all members from GCU lodge 252 of St. Nicholas.

Parishioner News: Congratulations to our College and High School Graduates.

Today, we celebrate our High School Graduates Maddie Krawsnasky, Stephen Stanko (From Boardman High School) and Elena Slemons (From Canfield High School).

Maddie will be attending Youngstown State University majoring in Early Childhood Education. Stephen will be attending Youngstown State University majoring in Finance. Elena will be attending The Ohio State University majoring in Sports Industry (Business).

Also, Nicholas Dubos who graduated from Duquesne University with a Doctorate in Pharmacy. Nick will be a Pharmacist for Rite-Aid.

Congratulations to all our graduates and may God continue to bless them in the next stage of their lives.

Trash to Treasure: A trash to treasure sale will be held at St. Peter and Paul Church Social Hall and Parking Lot, 180 Belvedere Ave NE in Warren, Ohio on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 8:00am-4:00pm. Numerous vendors, food, and bake sale. Everyone is welcome!

SENIOR LUNCHEON: The monthly senior luncheon will be held on Thursday June 1, 2017 at NOON at Byzantine at the Grove. Please call Helen Yurko@ 330-782-1524 for reservations. All parishioners and friends are welcomed to come and enjoy the afternoon. There will be NO Senior Luncheon for July and August, but will Resume in September.

Parishioner News: Congratulations to Stephen Stanko on being awarded WYTV’s Student Athlete of the Week. Stephen, who is one of our Altar Boys, will be Graduating from Boardman High School this year, is Valedictorian of his class with a 4.0 GPA. Stephen is also an All-Conference swimmer and tennis player. Congratulations Stephen!
