HELPING HANDS INFANT JESUS:

June 30, 2018 we are asking for volunteers to donate time to beautify our church grounds. Kindly mark your calendars; we will begin at 9:00 am with a light lunch being provided. Please bring your “green thumb” and favorite gardening tools.

 

BYZANTINE SOCIAL CLUB:

Next meeting will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 6pm at the parish Pavilion on the south lawn

and Group A is in charge. Please bring your own steak or entrée and sides, desserts and beverage will be provided.

ANNUAL PARISH PICNIC:

Annual picnic will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 6:00 pm at our picnic pavilion. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. A sign-up sheet is located in the vestibule. Hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be provided. Let’s all look forward to an evening filled with fun, food and socializing.

KENNYWOOD:

2018 Byzantine Family Day at Kennywood Park will be Thursday July 26, 2018. There are discounted park tickets, program and activities and free bus. The bus will leave Infant Jesus of Prague Church Parking Lot at 9:00 am sharp and will leave Kennywood at 6:00 pm. Ticket options are: $24 Ride All Day ticket; $14 Senior (55+) Ride All Day; $10 Super Senior (70+)

Ride All Day; and $15 Lunch (All you can eat- BBQ chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips and cookies.) There is a sign-up sheet in the vestibule and the deadline to sign up is Monday July 9th. Pre-pay in advance cash or checks made to GCU Lodge 442.

 

DEACON FORMATION PROGRAM:

The admissions process for the 2019 program is now open for men 30-60 years old who are discerning a call to service in the Church. For more information, pamphlets are available in the vestibule or call the office of vocation at 412-231-4000. The deadline for registration is July 8, 2018.

 

DEEPEST SYMPATHY:

Deepest sympathy for the Mulichak family on the passing of Ms. Megan McGaw, in  blessed repose and eternal memory.

St. Michael’s Byzantine Church will sponsor a Slavic Fest on Sunday, May 20th from 11am-6pm at 2140 Highland Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148. They will be serving Holupki, Pirohi, Haluski, Palachinki, Baked Goods, and Beer/Wine, with Raffles and a live band!

 

HELPING HANDS DAY:

The GCU is partnering with the youth and adults of the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh and Friends of the Sisters of St. Basil in a day dedicated to beautifying the grounds at Mount Saint Macrina in Uniontown, PA on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 9:00 am. If unable to attend, please help with a monetary donation:

NEW ENTRANCE:

As all can see, a new cement entrance was recently laid and the cost was $5,800.00. This was one of our projects for 2018. Thank you for the Maintenance Fund donations.

Will sponsor on April 29th at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH at 1:30 pm, the author, Dr. Michele Parvensky, PhD, “Wooden Churches of Rusyn Areas in Easter Europe.” She has traveled extensively throughout the Rusyn areas and questions about Eastern Europe and the Rusyns will be addressed.

St. Nicholas is sponsoring this event on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm @ Byzantine Center at the Grove, 3801 Shady Run Road, Youngstown, Ohio. The cost is $30 per person. This price includes a buffet luncheon and 8 games of bingo. A Chinese Auction & Bingo Ball Drop Raffles will also be offered. There will be many chances to win over $ 1,000 in prizes. Walk-ins welcome based on availability.

The Holy Family Infant of Prague Guild invites all to celebrate 75 years honoring the Infant of Prague Guilds in the Youngstown Diocese. Please join in prayer on April 26, 2018, at St. Dominic’s Church, 77 East Lucius Ave., Youngstown, Ohio. Confession starts at 11:15 am, followed by the Rosary, Mass, Prayers and lunch at the Parish Center at 1:00 pm.  The day will conclude with a  spiritual conference by Fr.
