ANNIVERSARY BOOKS:

Our 50th Anniversary are available to purchase for $15-please see Fr. Michael to purchase.  Those who generously donated and receive a free book, please see Fr. Michael or Paula Slemons.

SANCTUARY CANDLE:

The 2023 Sanctuary request sheet is available on the vestibule table.

ROSARY:

The Altar & Rosary Society will be praying the rosary NEXT Sunday, December 4th at 8:30 am. Everyone is welcomed.

CHRISTMAS KOLACHI SALE

Maryna is baking Nut Rolls (Kolachi) for Christmas. Forms are available on vestibule table. Deadline is December 11, 2022. All orders will be completed before Dec. 22

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES:

CHRISTMAS DINNER:

The Byzantine Social Club welcomes ALL PARISHIONERS to a Christmas party at Holiday Inn in Boardman on December 11, 2022 from 5:00-9:00 pm. Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm with choices of Baked White Fish, Chicken Marsala or Beef Burgundy. The cost of each dinner is $28.00 and includes dessert and beverage. Cash bar will be available. There will be a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and carolling. A sign –up sheet is posted in the vestibule of the church. Please make checks payable to the Byzantine Social Club. Payment can be dropped in the collection basket or given to Bob or Stephanie Sheely. We hope to see everyone for an evening of good food, fun, fellowship and Christmas cheer.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY:

The Children’s Christmas Party will be Sunday December 18th following 9:00 am liturgy. Everyone is invited for a snack, beverage and a special visit from St. Nicholas. Children age 14 and under please sign up in church vestibule by Sunday December 11th.

CHRISTMAS DECORATING:

We will decorating the church for the Christmas season on Saturday, December 3rd at 9:00 am. All parishioners are welcomed. A lunch will be provided.

CONDOLENCES:

Sister Leocadia Sevachko, one of our dear Sisters of St. Basil, passed away this past week. Sister Leocadia entered The Sisters of St. Basil from St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church here in Youngstown. She was a teacher for over 57 years with her last position being at Byzantine Catholic Central in Youngstown. Sister Leocadia was a wonderful teacher and had a positive impact on all of her students and everyone she met. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to her sister, Sister Bernarda and family.  

Also, our sympathy and prayers to Robert Democko and his family on the passing on Robert’s sister +Marian Democko Dzurnak and to the Walsh family on the passing on of

+Mary Lynn Urdea Smercansky.

Blessed repose and eternal memory to his servants Sister Leocadia, Marian and Mary Lynn.

UPCOMING EVENT: On December 4 Oles Cheren & Lyubov Yesyp, dba Cataract Press from Parma will be visiting our parish with a large selections of Slavic (Croation, Polish, Rusyn, Slovak, Slovenian & Ukrainian) merchandise. This will include books, CD’s, DVD’s, embroidery, imported from Ukraine, jewelry. The focus of the display is the Lord’s Nativity and includes Christmas, tree ornaments and carols. The display will be in the vestibule and a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to our parish.

SANCTUARY CANDLES:

The Sanctuary candles will be lit for the entire week for your intentions.

For the week of November 27-Dec. 3, the right sanctuary candle is in memory of +Nick & +Mary Pankewycz from the Lenyk family. The left sanctuary candle is in memory of +John S. Stanko & +John G. Stanko from Mark & Nancy Stanko.
