Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Mark, Annmarie, Bobby & Britney Jonda on the passing of Annamarie’s Mom, Rose Gaffney. Mrs. Gaffney volunteered her time and talent during her illness to refurbish the crucifix from St. Peter & Paul Church for our 50th anniversary and in memory of Janice Salcedo. Blessed repose to his servant Rose.
REGULATIONS FOR THE GREAT FAST:
STRICT ABSTINENCE: (fast) is toobserved on Pure Monday, February 28th-the 1st day of the Great Fast & on Great & Holy Friday, April 15th. This includes no use or consumption of all meats, eggs and dairy products.
SIMPLE ABSTINENCE: Thisforbids the use of meat on all Wednesdays & Fridays during the Great fast but allows eggs and dairy products.
PRE-SANCTIFIED LITURGIES will be celebrated every Wednesday @ Infant Jesus of Prague -6:00pm and every Friday @ St. Nicholas-4:00pm during the Great Fast. Pre-Sanctified Liturgies will also be celebrated on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week (schedule to be determined).
LENTEN EDUCATION CLASS:
This year, following all Wednesday liturgies there will be a Lenten adult education class. All parishioners, family and friends are welcomed to learn about our Byzantine faith. Classes begin this Wednesday, March 2nd.
Altar & Rosary Society will be praying the rosary on March 6th at 8:30 am. All parishioners, families and friends are invited.
LENTEN ETHNIC FOOD SALE:
St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church 2140 Highland Road, Hermitage is having a Lenten ethnic food & bake sale on March 9th from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm. 50th ANNIVERSARY BOOK:
As we are continuing to work on the 50th anniversary book, we are asking for more pictures from 1971 to present of events of Infant Jesus of Prague. Please bring to father Michael so we can complete and have the book available as soon as possible.
The Sanctuary candles will be lit for the entire week for your intentions.
