PARISHIONER NEWS: Our parishioner Thomas Urdea passed away this past week. His Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, March 2nd at 10am. Our deepest sympathy to Mr. Urdea’s family. Blessed Repose and Eternal Memory to the Servant of God Thomas.
PRE-SANCTIFIED LITURGY: During Great Lent, Pre-sanctified Liturgies will be on Wednesdays 6:00pm at Infant Jesus and on Fridays at 4:00pm at St. Nicholas. On Wednesdays following Liturgy, Dan Magulick will be conducting classes to educate us in our faith. We hope all can stay. Last year’s classes were very informative.
COFFEE AND DONUT SOCIAL:
Everyone is invited on Sunday, March 8th following Liturgy for coffee and donuts. The 1st Quarter Meeting of the GCU Lodge 442 will take place afterwards.
50TH ANNIVERSARY UPDATE: We are looking for businesses, organizations, and parish families to provide sponsorships in our Commemorative Anniversary Book. There will also be a section in memory of our beloved deceased parishioners. Order forms are available inside this week’s bulletin. If you have more than one sponsor, contact the rectory or call Mary Sinowski at (330)540-4519 .
We are also asking parishioners for any pictures from 1970 to present of our church to put in the commemorative book. Any questions, call Paula Slemons.
PICTURES UPDATE: Thank you to all parishioners who have had their pictures taken for our 50th Anniversary Commemorative Book. We know some were unable to meet these dates; therefore, we will be planning another sitting after Easter. We truly hope to have all parish families represented in our book. Any questions please see Father Michael or call Paula Slemons.
BYZANTINE SOCIAL CLUB COMMUNION BRUNCH: will be held on Sunday, March 22nd at 11:30am at Perkins Restaurant on Rt. 224 in Boardman. If you would like to attend, please let Joyce Lesko or Mary Novak know by March 15th.
STUFFED CABBAGE DINNER: A Stuffed Cabbage Dinner will be held on Sunday, March 15 from 11am-2pm at Byzantine Center at the Grove. Dinner includes homemade stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, corn, bread/butter, beverages and dessert. The cost is $12/person for Adults and $6 for Children age 10 and under. Extra stuffed cabbage are $3/each or $30/dozen. Dine in or carry out (bring your own container or containers will be available for $1 each). Call (330)519-0395 for reservations and phone ahead orders as we have sold out in the past!
PIROGHI UPDATE: The total proceeds from the Piroghi Fundraiser was $1448.00. Thank you again!
GCU JUNIOR BOWLING TOURNAMENT:
All boys and girls ages 5-18 who attend a Byzantine church are invited to attend on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Camelot Lanes. There will be no-cost bowling, food, prizes and fun! Applications and a sign-up sheet are in the church vestibule. The deadline for entries is Saturday, March 21st.
HARVEST FOR HUNGER: We will again be collecting non-perishable food items and paper products for the Second Harvest Food Bank. The collection bin will be in the vestibule through the end of April.
SANCTUARY CANDLES:The Sanctuary candles will be lit for the entire week for your intentions. The left Sanctuary candle this week is for 1st Birthday Blessings for Cambrie Woodward from Nonna. There is no intention for the right Sanctuary candle this week.
