FUNDRAISER NEWSLETTER:

Our summer fundraiser will end on Labor Day, September 3^rd. We appreciate any and all donations given and a week of prayers will be determined by Father Michael for your generosity.

 

3^RD QUARTER GCU LODGE AND ALTAR & ROSARY SOCIETY:

GCU  422 meeting will be Sunday, August 26^th following the 9am Divine Liturgy, with a coffee and donut social preceding the meeting.

Altar & Rosary Society meeting will be on Sunday, September 9^th following Divine Liturgy.  All parishioners and guests are welcome for coffee and donuts that will precede the meeting.

 

THANK YOU:

Thank you to the Byzantine Social Club, GCU and The Altar & Rosary Society for sponsoring the parish picnic.  The food was

delicious and abundant memories were made.

 

MAINTENANCE UPDATE:

A few weeks ago the chimney was repaired for $1550.00, which needed to be done before the roof.

 

The electricity, which was needed badly, in the rectory, has

been updated at a cost of $641.70, and was paid/donated by a fellow parishioner.

 

The following repairs are on the calendar: new roof on the rectory, painting the light poles in the parking lot & driveway, and repairing the stonework on the front of the church. Updates with cost will be provided when completed.

 

BYZANTINE ASSEMBLY 2018: September 16 -18^th at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Munhall, PA, will be an assembly attended by priests, deacons and the faithful of the Archeparchy. Please contact Fr. Michael if interested.

CONCERT:

September 9, 2018 the Ukrainian Bandurist Choir of North America will be in concert at the DeYor Performing Arts Center at 2:00 pm. For info call 330-824-2244. All are welcome!

KENNYWOOD:

This Thursday, July 26^th, is Kennywood Day. For those that signed up to ride the bus, it will leave at 9:00 am sharply, and everyone must arrive at the church by 8:30 am. If you purchased tickets through the GCU, they will be distributed that morning before leaving. Upon return home, the bus will leave Kennywood at 6:00 pm!

We look forward to a fun-filled day full of excitement, rides and food!

We appreciate any and all donations given and a week of prayers will be determined by Father Michael for your generosity.

ANNUAL PARISH PICNIC:

Annual picnic will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 6:00 pm at our picnic pavilion. Please find the sign-up sheet, which is located in the vestibule.

KENNYWOOD:

2018 Byzantine Family Day at Kennywood Park will be Thursday July 26, 2018. There are discounted park tickets, program and activities and free bus. The bus will leave Infant Jesus of Prague Church Parking Lot at 9:00 am sharp and will leave Kennywood at 6:00 pm. Ticket options are: $24 Ride All Day ticket; $14 Senior (55+) Ride All Day; $10 Super Senior (70+)

Ride All Day; and $15 Lunch There is a sign-up sheet in the vestibule and the deadline to sign up is Monday July 9^th. Pre-pay in advance cash or checks made to GCU Lodge 442. The church bus is partially sponsored by the Sheely Fund.

 

53^rd ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE:

August 13^th-15^th at Our Lady of Lebanon Shine with Bishop Milan Lach SJ of Parma will be the celebrant on August 14^th for the Byzantine Divine Liturgy.

 

BYZANTINE ASSEMBLY 2018: September 16 -18^th at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Munhall, PA, will be an assembly attended by priests, deacons and the faithful of the Archeparchy. Each parish is expected to send two

Representatives, ideally a man and a woman, and in turn, the participants will be asked to assist in developing and implementing a strategic plan for rejuvenating our parishes. Please contact Fr. Michael if interested.

CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE:

All parishioners who are celebrating wedding anniversaries in multiple of 5’s (5,10,15,20….) during 2018 are invited to celebrate on Sept. 9, 2-18 at 3:00 pm in St. Elias Church, where a liturgy, luncheon and certificate will be provided and given. HELPING HANDS INFANT JESUS:

June 30, 2018, we are asking for volunteers to donate time to beautify our church grounds. Kindly mark your calendars; we will begin at 9:00 am with a light lunch being provided. Please bring your “green thumb” and favorite gardening tools.

 

BYZANTINE SOCIAL CLUB:

Next meeting will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 6pm at the parish Pavilion on the south lawn

and Group A is in charge. Please bring your own steak or entrée and sides, desserts and beverage will be provided.
